President’s letter
BHPR is going from strength to strength in our 25th year. Our membership has grown and we have been able to influence an increasing variety of initiatives. We will continue to fight for improvements and consistency in rheumatology services and support members to do the same.

Musculoskeletal Care – new benefit for BHPR members
Musculoskeletal Care has had a “makeover” including changes to the format, a renewed emphasis on clinically focused papers, and new sections such as “News and Views”. To herald the launch the journal will be distributed free to all members of BHPR. If you do not wish to receive free copies of Musculoskeletal Care send an “unsubscribe” email to subscriptions@rheumatology.org.uk to be removed from the mailing list.
Negative decisions on technology appraisals
There have been two negative decisions by NICE in regard to switching abatacept and tocilizumab.

ARMA’s Charter for Work launched
The Arthritis and Musculoskeletal Alliance is calling for action to ensure people with musculoskeletal disorders are properly supported in accessing employment and remaining in their jobs.
